Can't change email address

I have been trying to change my email address here on the forum but it keeps reverting to my original adress.

At one point I believed that I hade manage to change it just to realize that it had not fully changed as I could not login with it (the new adress). I could only login with my username or my old email address.

How do I update my email adress and how do I make it permanent?

Edit: It is like the new email address never gets connected to the username

Hello, Please try again: Settings → Change Email, then click the link in the confirmation message sent to the new address. After that you can log in with the new email.
Don't hesitate to report any other problem you run into.

Thanks for looking into this!

I have managed to change my email address and make it stick but it wasn't without problems. I also hade to change my password in order to be able to login with the new email address.

I can now login with my new email address and my username so for me the problem is solved but I'm not sure if a password change should be required.
